The Talimenta Route

Head to Talihena to ride the breathtaking Talimena National Scenic Byway. It takes you through mountains and some of the satisfying and beautiful curves.

The Elephant Route

Take a short ride to Hugo, OK. In the postwar 20th century, the city served as winter quarters for some circus companies and performers. A cemetery has a section for circus personnel. Also visit the Endangered Ark Foundation (click to book visit in advance), an Asian Elephant retirement ranch.

The Runes Route

Take this beautiful route to see the Heavener Runestone Park, which is centered on a Swedish-inscribed Viking runestone found in the 1920s. See the stone for yourself on Poteau Mountain just outside the town's limits.

The Waterfall Route

Take a ride to the Beavers Bend Waterfall in Broken Bow, OK, a beautiful area in southeastern Oklahoma. Enjoy the sound of nature at Mountain Fork River.  Stop by Girls Gone Wine for a wine tasting and gift store!
